I have a goal to blog more frequently though I find it hard to make the time to do so. With all the other things on my plate…excuse, excuse, excuse… In way of catching up, I’ll make this a multi-topic post.
Part I
To review my chores list, I have completed the new fence and gate. The paint cans are properly disposed along with a great deal of trash and debris that has been cluttering my back yard. Remnants of a section of concrete sidewalk, limbs, hog wire, stone, landscape rocks, odd pieces of lumber and a bit of this and that amounting to three truck loads have been hauled away.
Part II
I was playing my guitar Wednesday night when I noticed my collection contains lots of songs lamenting the passing of time/youth. Here are few lyrics from the great philosophers of our time (Seger, Mellencamp, Springsteen and Adams). See if can put the artist and title with the lyrics.
“Wish I didn’t know now what I didn’t know then.”
“Life goes on long after the thrill of living is gone”
“They’ll pass you by, Glory Days, in the wink of a young girl’s eye”
“Those were the best days of my life”
These songs are great when I get to feeling nostalgic.
Speaking of Nostalgia: (Love Alfred Hitchcock!)
Part III
I went camping this weekend. There was a council-wide camporee in Anderson with 1000-2000 Boy Scouts in attendance. I volunteered to run one of the events and had a great time doing so with Dylan (we couldn’t have done it without you!). We even managed to make the Greenville News and Anderson paper. We got wet and I got sore doing some heavy lifting but had a great time.
